Welcome to the 2016-17 Nippers season at Avalon Beach.
When and Where
The Nippers season runs from Sunday, 16 October 2016 to Sunday, 19 March 2017 with a break for Christmas. A separate Avalon Nippers calendar is available for download and printing.
On a regular training day, Nippers starts at 9:00am on the beach in front of the clubhouse. It runs until 10:00am – 10.30am depending on activities.
What do I need to provide?
Please ensure your kids are ready outside the clubhouse 15 mins before Nippers starts:
- In their swim-wear (rash vests recommended); covered in sunblock; fed and
- Wearing an Avalon Beach Nippers cap is compulsory. Please write your child’s
name in large letters on the outside of it.
- Wearing a fluorescent pink hi-visibility rash vest is compulsory, during all water
based activities in training and competition.
- Hi-Visibility vests are available for $10 at the uniform shop.
What will they learn?
Nippers is an activity-based program to educate children how to safely have fun at the beach and in the water. It follows a formal curriculum, tailored to each age group, working towards a formal surf award and certificate at season’s end. Details of your child’s study goals are available from your Age Manager.
