How to Join
Senior Club: All new members must first apply for membership via Surf Life Saving Australia’s Members’ Portal at http://sls.com.au/join.
Please note that an application for membership must be completed by every new member. Nippers aged U6 – U15 must have at least one parent/guardian join as a General Member. Once we have received your online application for membership, our Club registrars will be in touch to help you proceed with your application.
After your membership has been processed and your membership fees have been paid, you will then be able to set up a Members’ Portal account – a one-stop shop for everything surf lifesaving! Instructions available here: SLSA Members Portal Guide – Getting Started
Nippers: Refer to our Nippers page for further information.
Transferring from another Club?
If you are transferring to Avalon Beach SLSC from another Surf Life Saving Club you must request a transfer via the Members’ Portal:
- Use the menus from the SLSA Members Portal to Join/Transfer to a new organisation
- Select the Organisation you want to transfer to
State = Surf Life Saving NSW
Branch = Sydney Northern Beaches Branch
Club/Organisation = Avalon Beach
Transfer = Will generally be a “Full transfer” but you should select the correct level for your individual circumstances
- Update your personal details, in particular your email address, home address and mobile phone number.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page to complete the appropriate declarations and submit your request.
Once your request to transfer is submitted please complete your payment. Ensure “Complete name/Meaningful payment details” includes the name of each individual that the payment covers.
Transfers between clubs need to be approved by both the Club a member is leaving and the Club a member is joining. This process is not instantaneous. To follow the status of your membership transfer, contact the Registrar of the Club you are leaving or the Avalon Beach Registrars.
