U16 Bronze Medallion
Course Information: The Bronze Medallion course provides participants with the skills and knowledge of patrolling and surf awareness in order to be able to participate in lifesaving operations. Learn more
Duration: 4 week course
Day & Time: Usually held Saturday afternoons 3:00 – 5:00pm
Location: Avalon Beach Surf Club
Start Date: varies each season but usually mid September
Proficiency Swim: Will be carried out on first day of course. Swim 400m in 9 mins.
Uniform: Hi vis rashie compulsory. Can be purchased from here.
Bring: Wetsuit, googles, water bottle and hi vis rashie.

Course Fees: $180 (Course fee includes club access fob deposit and mask). Additional costs: Online subscription to course content $10 and hi viz vest $31. Active kids voucher (value $100) can be used.
Assessment date: varies each season and will be advised by your Trainer. Please note kids are not permitted to sit the assessment until they pass the proficiency swim and are aged 15.
Assessment cut offs: Returning Nippers who don’t make the age cut will have a separate assessment for them when they reach age 15 (minimum age). 21/22 season assessment cut off is 31 March 2022.
Attendance: An important note for both SRC and Bronze – a minimum of 80% attendance is required to pass. If you can’t make this then this course is not for you.
