Surf Rescue Certificate
The SRC is the introductory award for surf life savers and once you have obtained your SRC you will have gained the skills and knowledge to be able to participate as a Cadet in surf life saving, help out with Nippers Water Safety and/or join a patrol team. At our Club, the SRC is typically conducted over approximately 6 weeks, with on-line theory (approx 2 hours) and Sunday practical application. You must be a member of our Club. As places are limited, priority will be given to existing or previous Nippers.
2021 Start Date: Session # 1 = 5.00pm Wednesday 3rd November at Avalon Beach
2021 Day & Time: Sunday afternoons | Group 1 Start at 4pm. Group 2 Start at 5pm
Assessment Date: Saturday 11 December
Duration: 6 week course
Location: Meet on the beach side of the Clubhouse
Proficiency Swim: 200m timed unaided swim in the ocean pool. Goggles/masks may be worn. Target time is 5 minutes.
Bring: Wetsuits, googles, nipper cap, and pink rashie.
Uniform: Pink Rashie compulsory. Purchase here
Fees: Nipper Fees Active kids voucher can be used. Please claim the full voucher value ($100).
Assessment cut offs: Nipper must be aged 13 at date of assessment. In some circumstances, a later assessment may be arranged.
Attendance: A minimum of 80% attendance is required to pass. If you can’t make this then this course is not for you.
