Hatha Yoga with Amanda Murfin

You are never too old, too tight or too unfit to do yoga! All classes are well rounded with a focus on breath and self awareness – and include postures, meditation, relaxation and philosophy (just a little bit!) in a safe and supportive environment. You are encouraged to work at your own pace, adapting and adjusting within the limits of your fitness and flexibility (and without competition) to promote a sense of physical, mental and emotional wellbeing, renewal and healing.

Yin/Yang Yoga with Michelle and Anytime Fitness Avalon
Tuesday 6.30am (Yin Yoga), Thursday 6:30am (Yang Yoga), Friday 9:30am (Yin/Yang Yoga)Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—anywhere from 2-5 minutes. it is a mindful meditative practice. It targets soft connective tissues, generally of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine working with the meridian and energy channels, the ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised very much in a more active or yang style of asana practice.
Yang yoga is the more traditional hatha based asana practice that develops muscular strength, stamina, and flexibility.
Yin/Yang Yoga is a class that balances the traditional Yang yoga practice for the first half of the class with the newly developed Yin yoga practices for the second half of the class.

You don’t have to be flexible or strong to start with……. But you will soon notice great improvements. In Iyengar yoga we work on a monthly cycle, there are thousands of different physical yoga poses (asana’s). Yoga is a philosophical approach to life lived within a practical framework of working with the body and mind every day to gain clarity and awareness. The practice of the physical postures imparts flexibility, stamina and endurance, balance, concentration and clarity. Reduces physical tension and mental stress. Regular practice of yoga keeps the joints loose and mobile, it keeps the muscles strong and relaxed, it tones the internal organs and glands, it boosts circulation of blood and with it oxygen.

This is your chance to watch the sunrise over the ocean while getting your mid week reset to keep yourself on track with feeling your best! Class will be dynamic and energising, helping you gain both strength and flexibility, while being centred around helping you align with the physical/mental/emotional mindset that’s going to serve you the most throughout your day! Vedic Rounding at Sunrise – with Danielle DuBois

A sacred ancient practice that combines asana (gentle yoga postures) pranayama (breathing exercise), Vedic meditation and rest. The sequence is specifically designed to dissolve accumulated stress, expand the mind and consciousness ~ facilitating a powerful cleansing of the nervous system, whilst amplifying your Vedic meditation practice. Gentle, relaxing and healing, you will feel a strong sense of inner connection and stability. The days that follow will bring a sense of calm, clarity ~ elevation in consciousness and connection to the heart.
Open to everyone ~ you must be able to meditate for 20 mins, beginners’ mantras can be supplied if you do not have your own Vedic mantra.
First timers arrive 15 mins early for instruction.
Bring yoga mat, cushion/bolster and a blanket ~ $20.
