Surf Rescue Certificate

The SRC is the introductory award for surf life savers and once you have your SRC you become a Cadet Surf Life Saver, and can help out with Nippers Water Safety and/or join a patrol team.    Learn more

The SRC is typically conducted over approximately 6 weeks, with on-line theory (approx 2 hours) and Sunday hands on training and board skills.  You AND one parent/guardian must be a member of our Club.  As places are limited, priority will be given to existing or previous Nippers.

SRC (U14s): 

2025/26 Season Start Date: tbc
2025/26 Training Day & Time: TBC Sunday 10:45am – 12:30pm (Avalon Beach) water training
Assessment Date: March/April 2026 (TBC).  Minimum age 13 at assessment.

Location: Meet on the beach side of the Clubhouse
Proficiency Swim: 200m timed unaided swim in the ocean pool.  Goggles/masks may be worn. Target time is 5 minutes.
Bring: Wetsuits, googles, nipper cap, and pink rashie.
Uniform: Pink Rashie compulsory. Purchase here
Fees:    Nipper Fees apply Active kids voucher can be used.
Assessment cut offs: Nipper must be aged 13 at date of assessment.
Attendance:  A minimum of 80% attendance is required to pass. If you can’t make this then this course is not for you.
